The Cabinet has approved the Hajj 2025 Policy, which will soon be announced in a press conference, but before that, we want to give you an overview of the Policy. The Hajj 2024 Policy had almost the same points, but we can see some changes in the 2025 Policy.
Main Features of Hajj 2025 Policy
Hajj Quota
The Hajj Quota 2025 has been set to 1,89,210, of which half is for private while 50% is for government Hajj.
Passport Validity
Passport validity must be up to 6th Dec 2025, so ensure that if your passport expires before that, you renew it immediately. Also, it is strongly advised to apply for expired or new passports and apply through e-Passport, as normal passports these days take around 6 months. It is expected that HAJJ applications will be accepted in November next month.
Important Note: In Hajj 2025, children below 12 and pregnant women are prohibited.
Medical Restriction
In the 2025 Hajj policy, special consideration has been given to Medical problems, as many pilgrims died during Hajj 2024, which is why specific instructions have been given in this regard.
Many people who were suffering from liver, lung and heart disease were badly affected during Hajj 2024, as they could not bear extreme heat and could not walk for longer periods. Hence, they eventually got sick and died. Therefore, suffering from serious diseases will not be allowed in Hajj 2025.
Ladies without Mehram
According to the Islamic Ideological Council, ladies who wish to perform Hajj alone have to submit a letter granting permission from their father, brother, or son, and they can perform Hajj alone.
Hajj Packages
Two packages have been offered this year. One is of 38-42 days and is called a long package.
The short Hajj Package will be 20-22 days; you will get to spend 3 days in Medina with this package. If the number of applications exceeds the government quota, a draw might be made, and the date can also be extended.
Expense of Short Hajj Package
This short hajj package was introduced last year, and it was expected that expenses might be less for this package due to fewer days, but the charges were higher than for long packages.
New Policy Being Introduced In Hajj 2025
A new policy is being introduced in Hajj 2025, in which 200 people must have one MURSHID. In the past, Muaweneen-e-Hajj were made, and every new muawin had a duty daily. They did not know which Pilgrim came under their supervision. Murshid is being made to rectify this, and he will know who is under his supervision.
It will be his responsibility to guide and help these 200 people in Makkah, Medina, Mina, Arafat, and Muzdalifa.
Pak Hajj App
In this app, as soon as you apply for Hajj, you will submit your application and ID card number, and you can see the current status of your application there. All the information regarding flight schedules and hotels in Makkah and Medina will be visible on this app. The number you enter in this app should be the same as the one mentioned in the application, as you will be getting notifications and messages on this number.
Make sure not to send your elders alone to Hajj 2025.
